South Fork State Recreation Area

lakefishingSouth Fork covers 1,650 acres and is surrounded by 2,200 acres of rolling hills and meadowlands. This reservoir is best known for trout and bass fishing-with a small amount of catfish also caught. Facilities include a boat launch, campground, trailer dump station and picnic area.

Wild Horse State Recreation Area

This 120 acre park is centered on the northeast shore of Wild Horse Reservoir. Trout, bass, yellow perch and catfish can all be caught from the shore by boat.

Ruby Lake National Wildlife Refuge

This 37,632 acre refuge holds Ruby Lake and prime large mouth bass fishing. Fly or spin fishing is also available, as well as the possibility of hooking a real trophy trout. A fresh water bullrush marsh, open ponds, and grassy uplands are also home to an amazing variety of birds and other animals. Motorized boats are permitted seasonally with a 10 hp limit.

Angel Lake Scenic Byway

This beautiful alpine lake is accessible by paved road and offers plenty of mountain trout and memorable fly fishing. Motorized boats are prohibited.

Lake Billy Shaw

lakebillyshawLake Billy Shaw is the premier fly fishing, catch-and-release trout fishery of the Duck Valley Indian Reservation. This reservoir is well known for its trophy sized and aggressive trout. Special fishing permits required on reservation. Portable restrooms are the only facilities present, so be prepared for rustic camping.

Sheep Creek Reservoir

sheepcreekSheep Creek Reservoir is well known for its ability to produce monstrous sized trout in its waters. There are 30 camping shades and picnic areas, 6 restrooms, and two boat launch/dock areas. Special fishing permit required on reservation.

Owyhee River

The East Fork Owyhee River is well known as one of the best trout fisheries in northern Nevada. There are approximately 10 miles of fishable river in the southeast part of the reservation, following highway 225. Fish this river by hitting some deeper holes with decent water velocity and avoid areas with slower velocities. Special fishing permit required on reservation.
